Concert Orchestra Conductor
A former student of the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto, his teachers have included: John Montague, Erica Davidson, and Gerard Kantarjian (violin). He holds a Combined Honours Bachelor’s degree in Music and Contemporary Studies from Dalhousie University and the University of King’s College (where he studied violin under Philippe Djokic), and Master of Music and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Kizas received his teacher training, with a specialization in music, at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.
As a violinist, in addition to performing with the University of Toronto and Dalhousie University Symphony Orchestras, he is a former member of the Royal Conservatory of Music Repertory Orchestra and the Montague Strings. Dr. Kizas currently performs as a soloist and chamber musician in the community and is thrilled to be part of the artistic staff of the Mississauga Youth Orchestra.
